Finance Manager

Responsible from Financial perspective for Shepherdsville and Canada Fulfillment Centers.  Involved in $5o million annual budget and quarterly forecast process using Hyperion and Essbase as reporting tools.  Approve all capital expenditures and track all capital expenditures for these sites.  Created useful tools to show cause of change analysis for year over year or forecast to forecast changes analyzing direct wages and breaking out variances into wage rate, volume, and productivity variances.  Responsible for forecasting and analysis of all packaging costs, estimated $4 million annual in purchases.

Service Operations & IT Finance Manager (2008-current)

Subject Matter Expert for Activity Based Costing Model for all Humana Service Operations (approximately 10,000 employees).  Develop and maintain tools to pull data from multiple platform systems in a usable format to track any customer’s direct overhead expenses.  Utilizes Access (two million records in 2008 database) and Excel providing valuable metrics for Senior Management to see what groups cost Humana money which leads to the why?.

Creation of an Excel tool utilized by all IT Vice Presidents and Finance to illustrate expenses based on user-selected filters.   This tool shows trends and comparisons to budget, including charts and projections.  Uses Visual Basic to implement passwords sets for various access within the Excel tool.  Savings of five hours per month from data automation.

Developed tool for SOP 98-1 Capitalization of IT Project time.  Automation of data extract from IT Time Entry System to provide Finance an accrual based on all projects that IT does for Company.  Savings of 10 hours per month and increase in efficiency and accuracy.

Creation of database which tracks quarterly pay incentive plans for 2,500 associates across Green Bay, Louisville, Tampa, and Cincinnati tracking quality metrics and calculating bonus payouts based on criteria established by Senior Management.  Gives supervisors ability to update their rosters and gives managers and directors a scorecard of all of their associate’s data.

Financial Analyst (2006-2008)

Core team member of Finance Metric team that provides monthly dashboards of more than 200 PowerPoint slides for multiple Operational areas showing key metrics that drive business, productivity, and results.   Ability to foresee trends and provide operations with details of trends, making it easier to explain shifts in metrics.

Facilitate Annual budgets for $56 Million in Expenses including reporting and analysis to Senior Management including individual schedules for each Director and Vice President.

Development and maintenance of staffing models that provided Senior Leadership the tools to not hire a new class in 2007, a pre-tax savings of $300,000.  Developed highly functional and visual (through advanced charts) Expense and FTE variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget, Actual vs. Forecast).

National Pricing Analyst (2004-2006)

Manage pricing model to accurately price National Merchants that process more than one million transactions annually.  Created macros that save department over 500 hours per year in additional research of merchant analysis.

Introduced pricing matrix utilizing Excel VBA macros to evaluate current customer pricing versus potential clients for pricing comparisons creating internal market analysis among different industries.

Inventory Analyst (2002-2004)

Realized after tax earnings of $100,000 per year from forecasting and analysis of in-house program to offer extended warranty on credit card terminals, eliminating need for third party vendors.

Responsible for purchasing of credit card equipment (purchases of $6 million in 2004) and managing levels of inventory based on criteria that ensure optimal quantity levels.  Forecast credit card terminal revenue and expenses for 2003-2007 (Terminal Revenue averages $9 million per year; Expenses $7 million).
